In 1992 a Bulgarian lot of the second country’s Euro Route E4 was found, which is called “Pyrenees – Alpes – Rila – Peloponnese” for short. It starts from Spain and passes through France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, through Bulgaria and Greece – up to the Crete Island. In Bulgaria it passes through Vitosha, Verila, Rila, Pirin, Slavyanka, where at Gotsev peak it reaches the border with Greece with total length of 350km.
